Suggest a European clubbing weekend destination

    Hi,

After what seems like a 6 year groundhog weekend thing, I've decided to instigate the possibility of going on a lads weekend in mainland Europe - but I'm clueless as to what's cool or safe...

Basically we're all around 23 years old and like the following stuff:

    - Beaches
    - Decent Bars
    - Decent but not too expensive clubs that play decent dance music (not just the usual commercial stuff)
    - Cheap flights / accomodation
    - Some chance of English speaking would be nice

    We definitely don't like:

    - RnB / Rap (sick to death of it here)
    - Chavs (We're all well presented, hard working and pleasant people!)
    - Any kind of lairyness

We're aiming for a budget of around £200 - £300 all in. Any ideas? Suggestions greatly appreciated!

Went on a stag do in Prague last month, no beaches, but everything else is there, and it's silly cheap. 40-60p a pint and that's for some of the best lager I have ever tasted as well.

you wont get beaches, but eastern europe is hot. how about doing chezch republic (prague) one day, then beasting it over to romania or similar with a hangover on the plane, doing a night there, then heading home? flights are dirt cheap and the drinks are cheaper. the women are.. mmmhmmm

prague is the capital city of cezch republic

I'd love to go to barcelona if only for the sights, but it's meant to be pretty snazzy place and you get cheap flights there and i'm sure there'd be cheap accomodation too!

Really, i think any of the major capitals of europe would offer what you're looking for. Wherever you go u'll prolly find some rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish, just dont head for ibiza

Looks like Prague's hotly tipped then! I've seen a few websites praising it.

My Geography is confirmed to be apalling! Anyhoo - I'll look into it tomorrow a bit more.

    Thanks everyone!

Indeed, and Prague is no exception. On the first night we were there (14 of us) one of my friends had a "very nice lady" try to pick his pockets, luckily this was early on in the night and he knew what was happening.

Also you might get someone come up and ask you if he/she can "inspect" your currency, claiming they are part of some fraud squad clamping down on conterfit notes. Whatever you do, and I went the route of telling them to f*** off, don't give them any money.

Mostly it's common sense, but being a poorish country, there are a few dodgy people about, but I would not let that put me off going back there again, planing on going back in Feb next year with the Mrs

I'm trying to remember the name of some of the clubs we went to, I know the one on the first night was nice, I'm not a big clubbing fan at all, but it there 5 floors of different music, so there was something for everyone. It was right down by the river but I really can't remember the name of it :/ Again in there it was cheap, around £1 a drink.

Sadly, you've just missed the Sonar Festival in Barcelona. I went a couple of years ago and it was a superb weekend.

Nice city, nice weather, great music.
