    Larger-than-life Moon tonight!

    "A larger-than-life Moon will be the best show on Earth"
    ...apparently... if you look at the sky at around 10.30pm tonight, you will see the moon at the largest it has appeared since 1987.

    Sounds cool to me!

    Oh no, my mum will think it's gonna crash into the earth.
    PHP Code:

    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Mars is meant to be pretty damn close sometime in August isn't it? Apparantly it'll look larger than the moon.

    Edit: nope,was just one of those dodgy 2 year old chain emails. Nevermind. Would have to be a bit too close to look larger than the moon anyway.

    Hey I got a photo of that last nite, here it is. Took it with my not so great Fujifilm 2800 zoom.

    Anyone know of a digital camera that works well in low light conditions? Mine just takes a black screen in low light and adjusting the exposure results in blurry photos unless I use a tripod.

    Nikons tend to be good, they increase the gain on the screen so that you can see what you are doing. Some of the Sony digicams can do th same, thers also some models wit han IR illuminator to take pics in total darkness

    Is this a competition to see who can post the largest image?

    I would argue that mine is the best quality, is that a picture of an eclipse using a filter?

    Hehe, possibly a competition to see who's too lazy/busy to reduce the image size.
    No filters used on my moon eclipse, but it was a bit cloudy, and I used the highest ISO.
    More here if anyone's interested...http://www.g-ray.co.uk/pictures/Moon-Eclipse
