Hexus.net review quoted in mag advert.

In the next Custom PC there is an advert (i cant remember for who) which
    quotes a hexus review.

It shows some bar graph for the performance in a game poss HL2.
It showed the ATI X700 beating a 6800 GT and some other similar nvidia
card by quite a significant margin.

So what review did it come from and did they ask you if they could use
    it?

HEXUS has different agreements with different companies - we are in a lot of magazines this month.

Check out PCPro, and other titles - also all of the trade press

I'd have thought not, since it's advertising, but you never know .

EDIT - wow, 2 people replied while I had this page open when I was looking at that wtory thread! that was in answer to Kumagoro, but I think David would probably be able to answer that better, even though I doubt he would anyway .

HEXUS is a constant growing brand - and we are seeing the results in the traffic.

Kinda impressive for a site which started as a hobby

As for the quote, it's my understanding that advertisers can quite legally quote from reviews as long as they acknowledge the source and quote it accurately, they don't need permission. It's like when film posters have quotes from newspaper reviews on them, they don't have to get permission before using them.

I wouldn't have thought a quote was a problem, seeing as it was also free advertising for the site anyway

    I bet he's sore....

    *boom tish*

My PC is in Custom PC this month chaps pages 32,33,34

Anyway, Sapphire probably used the Hexus results and the logo because hexus tell it how it is, and call a spade a spade and are not scared of stating if an item is good, bad or damn right ugly

True... and one of my favourite parts of Private Eye is their quotes section where they take a quote from a film or theater advert and compare it with the original quote... eg:

Show advert quote = "... a ripping good show... worth seeing!"

    Notice the "..." bits.

The original quote might have actually been "Show X is a ripping good show but this pile of rubbish isn't worth seeing!"

Some of them are pure class for creative editing!

The hexus logo is poping up in many places now, its always in CPC somewhere. It can only be a good thing.
