... "It's too wet..."
Following on from the last thread about people moaning it's too hot.... no-one EVER says it's too wet...
btw, what exactly IS 'soaked to the bone'? How's that possible?
Getting so pruned in a bath, that the skin lets in water and gets to the bone.Originally Posted by Nick

It's too wet when it's in the house, á la my aunties utility room and top bedroom last weekend.
I like the rain, it's soothing

Rain is good in small doses as it clears the air of the pollutants that build up after a few days of sun i.e pollen, dust, car smoke particles etc.
If I was @ Glastonbury now - I'd get at least 3 bottles of washing-up-liquid and have a foam party![]()

I have uttered the words "it's too wet" before, nickIt's not so unheard of! AND i live in west central scotland, the wettest place to live in scotland
I HATE rain! i dont mind a bit of drizzle on a hot day to cool the air a bit, and thunderstorms are always fun (as long as i'm not out in it!) but if it's raining out side, i'll do whatever i can to avoid leaving the house, i just dont like getting wet when i'm fully clothed

Speaking of thunderstorms...
I'd just popped into my nearest local town today when I was just walking back to the car and it was positively hissing down with rain... I'm parked in the locla Morrisons car park and opposite is a building site with one of those tall cranes, the one on a tall, slender scaffolding type tower...
Anyway, the weather then dealt me a true Senacot moment as there was an almighty flash like someone had set of the worlds largest flash gun then a truly deafening crack as lightning struck the crane.
I was just getting in my car which was parke probably 50 yards from the base of the crane and I was looking towards it but not at it and I just caught the whole thing at the edge of my vision... The noise was incredibly loud... unbelievably loud in fact... so much so that my ears were very slightly ringing...
I don't mind saying it made me jump more than a little...
hope you werent touching any metal parts of your car at the timeelectricity like that can jump a long way (duh! from the sky to the crane
) We never have decent thunderstorms, the last decent one i remember was when i was 7 and walking home from school and it suddenly going pitch black in a matter of minutes just as i was coming over the top of the hill near my gran's house and seeing an almighty fork of lightening over the hills in the distance, then the horrendous clap of thunder to follow, then running all the way to my gran's to hide lol
I was watching a programme on "Mega-lightning". They interviewed a glider pilot who's plane got hit. The bolt was so strong it disintergrated his glider and the sound was so loud it burst both his ear drums.
Luckily he was wearing a parachute so survived.
