    Duxford Today was truely special...

Just got back from the flying legends display at Duxford, seemed extra special after Thursday's events.

Crowning moment was 8 Spitfires!! flying less that 50m over the end of the flight line where we where...

Ended with a WWII 24 Plane formation flypast which was AWESOME!..

1 Happy TiG here, truely inspired...

You might be thinking of hurricanes. There a lots of spits around still.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

there's about 50- odd Spitfires still airworthy, but only a handful of Hurri's - you can count em on both hands

I've got a short video of that taxing too, just right speed to show the blades in action.

Seeing it fly was awesome, Take off was crazy too, 200Yards and it was in flight!!.

That spitfire was my favourite plane of the day, only just beating the Yak11 (Yak3M really which was also very very cool)

That and seeing two B17's in flight at the same time, with the Memphis Belle putting smoke on 1 side of the plane as if the engines had been shot up was ace...

looks like a mk19...I bet the take off is easier with that, lot less sideways torque. I wondered, without seeing the pictures, if that was a sea/ship bourne model - it would make sense if it were.

Excellent day TiG! Parking spot turned out to be an excellent viewing point....very lucky there. Same as you m8, the two moments when my jaw hit the floor both relating to that Mk 18. It's amazingly short takeoff and it flying directly over our heads at probably less than 100 feet (thought that was banned nowadays?).

Edit : - Thanks for the company m8
