    Question Explain

Theres something wrong with your dog, its not going to live.

So you have it put down.

A quick painless solution to the problem, job done.

    So why isnt euthanasia legal?

People will put a dog down but not a human, wheres the logic in that?

They'll pump u full of drugs keep you on XYZ machines that do everything for you and then someone somewhere decides ur not going to make it so they take u off the machines and medication and you die slowly...

    So hows that work then?

    Explain?

there isn't any logic in it really...

People will argue it's because Human's are more evolved and live longer but i dont see what that has to do with it.

Personally i think euthanasia would be legal... it would go someway to helping with the NHS bed shortage..

My mate (a doctor) told me that 95% of the money the NHS spend on you in your lifetime is spent in the last 5% of your life. (Something like that anyway, dont remember the exact figures, but you get the idea).

Makes you think really. As treatments get more advanced and expensive, when do you stop treating someone?

The simple answer would be, when they stopped wanted treatment.

The problem is that when you are off your head on Valium it's hard to make an objective decision on that one.

I don;t know how I stand on this one, I know I'm anti-abortion, but an adult can surely make it's on choice, the only alternative is suicide, which *doesn't allow one into heaven* and (always makes me laugh) is illegal.
I think that if it can be justified, it should be allowed.

Suicide is not illegal. It used to be, but is not any more.

Forget Suicide........thats not an issue here.....Trig is on about "euthanasia" (sp?) and I agree with him.

Once my oldest dog gets weak, its a gonner......I love her more than I can explain.....she had another big op this year, but I would not let the vet take her leg off....she's too old to learn again, too weak in her other 3 legs......so I said "mend it,cut out the lumps, stitch it up, I'll help her get better, it'll take 2 weeks, shes laying on it, so it doesnt hurt.....then she leads a normal life all summer, maybe winter too, until I decide she's having too much grief....then she's going"

Its gonna hurt....shall do lots of howling THAT day, I can tell ya......but...BUT....you gotta do it.

So why not for your cancer ridden, crippled with pain, drugged out of her face- Grandma.....?

I would....so would my Mum, the rare thing we agree on......should be legal

What kind of fool would think that euthanasia is wrong, anyway? Puzzles me how wrong some people are, yet they still get things their way.
