I've heard that is true, and I've also heard there's TONNES of protection on each track. Like it can only be burnt to a CD 5 times, or put on a MP3 player so many times. I wouldn't use iTunes as I've heard that they often randomly change their policy, so your files could be totaly free to use now (I don't think they are), and then have a load more "protection" on then with the next update.

I'd just get CD's instead - at least that way you get a permanent version of an album.

You shall be authorized to burn a playlist up to seven times.

You shall be able to store Products from up to five different Accounts on certain devices, such as an iPod and iPod mini, at a time.

Would it be better to just use Tesco's for online music then?

    Linkey to Software

I bought loads of music from itunes then transfered to a Iriver which didnt support the protection and that above software sorted it out for me.

I love the fact that it lets you burn it to cd, surely then you can rip it back off with something else and lose the copy protection, i havn't tried it as i'm not going to spend that much on an album unless its really good, then i'll buy it from my local music store as they need the support, but it should work to get rid of the drm.

Yeah, I normally just buy the CD. I mean, they are virtually about the same price.

For albums I buy cds, but I do buy the odd single track online. Would probably buy more online if they gave a discount on 10+ tracks.

I use iTunes to preview music before I buy it on eBay. If you buy an album second-hand you aren't letting the BPI or RIAA get your money. Cheaper too...

Ok I cannot unlock my music that I got through iTunes. I think I will just download my tunes from elsewhere.

If your allowed to burn it to a standard CD, then you could just burn it to cd then rip it back to your computer as a normal mp3 with no protection. (Did this once with WMA protection)
