Yes. In fact, I think I'm gonna start having fun with post counts when I see several SPAM posts from the same person in quick succession - and locking or deleting and For Sale threads that someone manages to sneak in byu spamming to get access to FS. Or maybe, making access to FS a case of manual authorisation, so everyone that reaches 50 posts will have to get an Admin to manually add them to the forum list.

Spam in here is getting way beyond a joke.

There is also the option to amend the increment by which a members post count changes for every post. If I change that to zero for a given member, their post count is locked. If I change it to -1, their post count will go DOWN by one, every time they post.

If I change it to -500, ........


Quite seriously, Spam is starting to generate a lot of complaints from members and is actually driving some members away. That is going to have to stop, and right quick!


PS. These comments are NOT targetted at Rob3 - this is a generic comment about the state of several forums, especially GD.

Its a valid response to that thread yes, but not to every thread and every comment made by another user.

My post count, i knew that'd be next, i can't even be bothered to argue that one out because I know its not spam, and i know that I help people here as best i can.

Well i have to stick up for Knoxville here, im not on these forums alot compared to some regulars but whenever ive seen his posts they don't consist of a load of crap. Unlike spammers they actually have value related to the thread, and sometimes his posts are helpful .

Well surely as its a "General Discussion and Banter" part of the forum, does it really matter if it consists of both funny and and yet important posts. Hence the "discussion and banter" coming into it, i have noticed some threads are a little stupid, but others are there for their comical value and some for their good reasons.

Yes mate i have to admit, some threads lately are beyond a joke. These threads are purely created, to get more post counts etc in which they can get onto the sales forums. But as said by admins, they will hopefully sort it out, which i hope happens .

Well knox matey you do have a very high post count, and as long as people talk about spam and your in the thread with a massive post count your going to get accused .
