    US purchases :)

    So im off on holiday to the states in two weeks time, Im thinking while im over there that I may get a few bargains - mainly im getting an ipod but will also be considering a psp.

    Any other ideas for things which in the states are well priced compared to the stupid money we pay here?
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    Gasoline, illicit drugs, and firearms. Not sure anyone of those would be easy to take back to the UK though...that basically leaves electronics.

    Last week I returned from the US, and I highly regret not buyying a new graphics card. Go to NEWEGG and order from there. If you already have a good GPU, buy a second one because the prices are amazing! You can get a 6600gt for the price of 85 pounds converted!

    Yeah.

    A friend of mine got a..., I think it was a 6800.. maybe ultra, can't remember. Anyway, few months ago this was, and it cost him about £100 instead of tons more than it would cost in the UK. His father lives in America so he ordered it to his dad's address, then his dad sent it to the UK (without the box = no tax rubish)

    Don't forget the possibility of import duty, VAT and any problems returning goods to the US if they develop faults - though the latter depends on whether it has an international warranty or not. Some things do, some don't. Things in the US may not be as much of a bargain as they first appear.

    PSP was already on his list.

    If you have a PDA then tablet pens are well priced there.
