It's fairly obvious (for us computer geeks) when somebody is sending a virus though.

I was helping a friend to remove a worm a few months ago (don't think it was kelver), but it took about 1 hour 30 minutes because it was a right bugger, and since I wasn't actually there (talking via email) it made things even harder.

I've never actually bothered to try and remove them... if I suspect a computer is infected a quick low level format usually works. I'm too paranoid.

nah your not paranoid, if my computer got infected i'd back up my stuff and do that too, besides.. havn't been infected for YEARS, and even then I formatted.. (apart from clearing crap off friends/family computers)
