Internet Communication facilities: How many "type" are there?

How type of communication services can you find on the net? Let me give an examples of what I mean:

    - Instant Messenger: (ICQ, MSN, AIM, etc.)
    - E-Mails
    - Newsgroups
    - Internet Forums/Discussion boards
    - Voice over IP (Skype)
    - Social network services (I'll include those, as they usually enable some form of communication)

There must be more? Old ones, new ones.

You could split them in two as you have proper IRC networks and then indipendant rooms like the ones on the BBC.
