Was going to make a thread if I could get through
I thought it was just the school computers but when I got home it has been going slow too, been over 2 hours like..
Why /. yourself twice in one day? Thats just plain silly, especially when you don't have the new servers up! We're the ones that are suffering!
Well we are suffering too
The site is serving heaps of pages still
Slow or not at least HEXUS is still up, know what I'd prefer till things get sorted![]()
May sound like a stupid question.....Whats a Slashdot?
Which article are we being but raped for??? I haven't seen much interest myself on articles to deem a mass move to Hexus.
Slashdot -
* Press releases can often trigger increased interest in a certain topic and if a web site link is provided in the release this can translate to increased hits to the web site. If the increase in traffic is so dramatic that it causes the server to be completely unreachable the server is said to have been "slashdotted." The name came into being after October 1998 when a press release was published on the Slashdot.org web site resulting in a major surge in traffic to another web server causing it to go down.
Hope things get moving soon![]()
Which articles are taking so many hits?
Maybe it the 34 PSU roundup?Originally Posted by dangerous_dom
ah, that explains why I couldn't access when I first got home, thought it was my end for a while, so I went and watched TV (well, I fell asleep first)
The two slashdotted articles are the 34 PSU roundup, and the ATi Crossfire X850 Basics article....
Matt.
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
34 PSU roundup, and also the Crossfire
well, you can't blame hexus for being popular now can you?...
