    Anti spyware programs

    Whats everyone using?

I need a new free program. I have been using spybot but its stopped letting me update despite a reinstall. I have also been using adaware which is still doing ok but another checker has detected a load of new stuff and now i need something to get rid of it.

What free program is everyone using at the moment. While we are at it has anyone else noticed avg isnt picking stuff up anymore its used to be great

Did you try to change the download location where you get the updates from in spybot?

Its always returns a checksum error... after hanging forever. Will give what you have both said a try

avast for free antivirus and for spyware it will have to be adaware (sp?) by lavasoft, it works well and is quick.

Spysweeper is the best spyware program I've ever used. In the 6 months it's ben running I haven't had a single cookie or spyware program installed as it intercepts them all It's not free but I think it's only like $10 after finding a money off coupon so well worth it.

What can i say - I actually work for a company that makes a damn good anti spyware programme....

    www.sunbelt-software.co.uk

ok - I know i work there - so i would say it was good.... (i am also an Account manager - so definately would!).

Bottom line - it IS very very good - we offer a 30 day eval download from the site - try it.... you never know, you might like it!

*EDIT* I only sell the corporate version so this is NOT a sales pitch!!!!!!!

    Malicious software

I had some irritating programme which kept firing up Winfixer in my browser and I just couldn't get rid of it using all the spyware tools I had.

But the people at Tom Coyote were brilliant - I would recommend anyone having spyware difficulties go there for help. And don't forget to thank them, they don't charge but the do accept donations.
