loved the free keys from opera, was very pleased about that. i still wouldn't use it for day to day stuff, but load times seem much better than ffox

This extension automatically employs link prefetching, network tweaking, enhanced pop-up blocking, along with simultaneous connections, pipe-lining, enhanced caching, DNS caching, and initial paint delaying to make FireFox so fast it can break servers (or at least hurt them).

    # Prefetch Links
Dynamic speed increases can be obtained with Firefox's unique prefetching mechanism, which recycles idle bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing.

    # Tweak Network
Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay.

    # Block Popups
A popup blocker for popups initiated by Flash plug-ins is also included.

    # Page Load Timer New!
A millisecond accurate page load timer tests the effectiveness of your settings.

ff is slow to open but thats about it. I love the way I can add as many or as few extensions/themes as I like to customise the way it works and the way it looks.

As said, the only time Firefox is particularly slow is when opening, otherwise I find it fine. Besides, where would I be without my extensions? The two I have at the moment are the Web Developer Toolbar, and an HTML validator (which is very useful - it tells me once the page loads whether it is valid or not, which saves me having to go through the W3C web site. It also shows how many sites on the internet are not valid!)

Once it opens, which I agree takes time, it's fine. I like the tabbed pages and teh fact that it's free.

Never thought FF as particularly slow, the 1.5 beta does actually crash a fair bit, hope this is solved by the time the proper version is released.
