    Ebuyer

Help! I checked my mail to day and was suprised to find mail from ebuyer saying I had bought a super fast flash card which is being shipped to a random address in London.

I didn't place the order and I don't even know where its getting shipped to. Has someone gained access to my ebuyer account or (hopefully) has ebuyer made a cock-up?

Either way Im not happy, have they accidently made up orders before?

Err, Ebuyer are pretty crap so I wouldn't put it past them to have bodged something up! Give em a call, but first check the authenticity of the email.

Errrm. I tried phoning ebuyer a few times and theyre busy so I resorted to using their eNotes which Im guessing will never be replied to. Im thinking about cancelling my card in case anyone has my card details. Ive also change my ebuyer login password. I dont think anyone has stolen my card details (touch wood) cos nothing else has been bought.

edit - The email they sent was real cos it shoed up in my account order details.

if they charge your card, then call your card issuer and flag the charge as unauthorised, the bank will then charge the amount back, and probably give ebuyer a bollocking..

I have orderd many expensive items from Ebuyer, they have always delivered on time if not earlier, and I have never had any problems, no damaged items.

Yeah I have ordered several items from ebuyer and most of my mates always use them. AFAIK no-one has ever had a problem with overcharging/late deliveries/breakages or anything like. So IMHO eBuyer's great

They don't. I was just replying to Big_Al 's comment that EBuyer is crap. In my experience they have been excellent, but everyone has different experiences and views of different companies, that's life. To say something connected to this thread then... Yeah, the credit card company will refund your money if it was an illegal purchase (debit cards aren't generally protected on-line!!!) and then it's upto eBuyer to get the money of the cheey sod who made the purchase...

Most people have had good and bad experiences with every retailer. Everyone has their own opnions after all.

Dragon, this whole things sounds decidely dodgy- defiantely talk to the cc company, letting them now of any potential problems will help a lot.

good luck with it , keep us posted

i agree - contact visa or whoever it is - there was a list of telphone numbers posted around here a while back, rather a link to a page with all manner of useful no.s on it such as all possible numbers for Ebuyer and not the ones they list on the site or anywhere...it was a fairly big list with things like phone (bt, orange,t-mobile etc...)companies as well - just ways of getting into the companies without the usual faff.
I can't seem to locate the thread tho...anyone remember it? it was in hexus forums...

Ebuyer have cocked up one of my orders before, not as seriously as this though!

I have recived damged goods a few times off them, twice on a perspex window and once on some CD-Rs.

Thats why I use a different password and username to my ebuyer /online store accounts to forums/other websites - just makes sence. Ebuyers phone system is far form good at the moment - you better off sending then an e-note - the phone system doesn't have a holding bay for callers - yeh you heard me right, if all their lines are busy, you get cut off.

Been using ebuyer for near 5 years now, and they have been messing around with their phone system of late - they took it away at one stage then brought it back due to the sheer level of complaints.
