    Faith In Doctors!!!

Basically i have these 2 "skin tags" (thats what the doctor calls em... they arent moles) they dont hurt but annoy me when shaving. im scared incase i catch them.

Anyway i went and seen a doctor today about em... He basically told me if i wanted them removed to tie a bit of thread around it and pull it tight... or catch em with a razer. They will come back, but not necessarily in the same place.

I aint gonna do it since they arent much of a problem........

Does anyone else have much faith in doctors?

some docotrs you get the feeling they know what they are talking about, while others you wonder whether they really went to medical school, i guess it just goes on the feeling i get about them, just as some people you talk to down the pub you get the feeling they know what they are talking about, while others you nod along with despite not believing a word of it!

i have very little faith in doctors tbh

i (breifly) lived with 3 trainee doctors whilst i was a student, & they were a health hazard, particularly in the way they'd ram the top shelf of the fridge full of week-old take aways which would then leak all over everything else, have they never heard of cross-infection?

also worked in a hospital microbiology lab for a while & the qualified docs didn't seem much better either

the thing i dislike about going to the GP is that i very rarely do so since
    1) i cba unless i'm dying
    2) i'm aware the nhs is in a mess so don't want to unnecesarily burden it further
despite this fact, on the rare occasions i do go, i often get treated like a malingerer & given short shrift..grrr
if it ain't broke...fix it till it is

I had a huge pendulous mole on my back about the size of a marble, that I tied a bit of string around to remove it. The hard part is getting it tight enough. Once there it turned black (and I mean jet black) after a couple of days, and the next morning I woke up and it had burst during the night. It was still attached but was rock hard and flat as a pancake. I sliced it off with a razorblade and since it was dead I didn't feel a thing. Yeah it was horrible, but now I don't have a trace of it left on my back...

    and everyone... on 3... EWWWWWW!

    Get a second opinion.

I trust doctors, probably because i have never had a problem with them. If they make a mistake they can lose their job remember...

only if its life and death, such as giving a diagnosis as this, doesnt really matter in the full scale of things.

yeah and you can loose your life. i don't see how a few years of medical school can give you the right to basically choose and decide who lives and dies.

I don't trust docters, and never will, have had too many problems with them. And had a certain docter been around last christmas day he'd have never walked again

i knotted a muscle in my shoulder last week, it still hurts, but it WILL fix itself, because i'm not going to a hospital.

I don't trust GPs most are not current with todays practices.

As some of you on IRc know my sister is quite ill, a situation which could have been avoided had her GP taken the correct action 4 years ago.
