    Quick little EBAY/PAYPAL question.

    Hi guys,

I recently bought a load of stuff off ebay. I use online banking to check statements and stuff.

Well I made the purchases on Sunday, this was paid for VIA paypal. I have nothing in my paypal account, so it takes the money out of my account (It says money taken). I checked and checked again (online) but I still have the same balance. What is going on?

Is the money only taken out when the sellers transfer it to thier bank account?

    Thanks people.

It takes 5-7 working days, so Monday.. Tuesday, that's only 2 days, could be another 5-7 yet.

I paid for some mud guards for my bike well over a week now, and the money only came out today because of the weekends and stuff.

Oh, and when the money is transferred... Your bank account --> Other persons paypal account. Then they have to transfer the money from PayPal to their bank account.

^Agreed. Paypal has the most annoying transaction times I have encountered in any money transfers. I think it's a big money grubbing scam.

I think you will find even if you do a direct transfer between two bank accounts it will still take around the same time.

Many people think direct bank transfers are instant, but if you check the small print it can take up to 18 days for the receiver to be fully credited.

its so the bank can use ur money to gamble on the stock market in those 5 days... i watched a program about it a while back. In Germany or somewhere in europe, they banned the banks from doing this, now when someone puts a cheque in it clears next day instead of taking oodles of time.

Yeah, it only takes a day or too longer than a transfer between between 2 UK accounts. It's an international transfer remember.

As for the money being taken from your account, did you use you debit card? Its normal for a debit card transaction to take a few days to clear.

It's not a specific PayPal issue, you need to learn how banks work.
