Like...say, a half-full tin of baked beans? Something about putting metal in the fridge?

it gets cold?
in the cold it contracts yes? is that why?
The tin can react with the stuff in the food, making it a bit poisonous.
****,Sometimes when i have beans on toast,I put half the tin back in the fridge and eat them later :O
I don't think it's gonna hurt anyone.

lol, first time I've heard of this. I do this all the time and I'm ok, as is everyone else I know.

i can imagine that old fasioned tins like you got back-in-the-day could cause problems with the food, but not modern tins. Other than that though, it is a little gross don't you think? You get that horrible dried skin on the top of the food, or depending on what was in the tin it would dry out and dicolour. Also more chance iof it going off quicker as it isn't in a sealed container any more.

The problem isn't with the fridge, you shouldn't leave food in a can after it's been opened full stop, as the metal on the inside of the can can oxidise into the food. I suppose if the tin has a plastic lining it'll be O.K., but seeing as it takes about 2 seconds to put the leftover food in a storage container I prefer not to risk it.
its the tin/zinc stuff that lines the insides of the can. put left-overs in a bowl and ditch the can safely.

Do you mean to tell me that cans in the UK don't have a teflon coating on the inside?
its the same as eating food out of a tin thats been dented, possibly a bit toxic, I do it all the time though to be fair and I'm not dead yet.
