    Free VoIP calls to landlines?

    http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/index.html

My dad me up at our home phone from his work saying he found this site etc etc. He's not dumb at all, but what is the validity of this site? Doesn't really seem that genuine to me, and how the hell do they make any money or anything from having calls to all those countries for free?

I don't really understand the way the credit system works on there either... I'm not accusing the site of being a scam by any means but does anyone know if I can trust this place? etc

Join the VoIP revolution and enable your PC for all your telephone calls. You can instantly call any regular phone in the world for free or at significantly discounted rates
    (Hense 1 minute)

Now I can't be bothered to download it, but I'm guessing you will have to pay or pay for a subscription for the full version - so I guess that's how they make the money..

It works fine and isn't a scam. If you want to make calls > 1 minute you have to add the credit (it isn't used for free calls). Can't remember how to add credit, it's either on the site on via the software.

It's cheap/free as it operates as a loss-leader. Prices will eventually go up but just use them while it's free

Check out VoIP Stunt - same company, more free destinations, and I don't think you need to buy credit.

And do a search for VoIP on the MSE phones board:

indeed, i use www.sipgate.co.uk for incomming calls, and voIP cheap for outgoing, both are not scams!

I did same via X-lite but it never likes working via telewest for some reason, where as the client software for voIP cheap works fine ??? Eliminated all hardware.

    But anyway, worth using.

for those of you that prefer sip, then www.sipdiscount.co.uk is the same company as voipcheap, but that system doesn't require their proprietory software...there is a little link in the left top corner of the voipcheap site
