all much of a muchness when i was working in this sortof area - just find somewhere that looks quite interesting - after a month you'd take something nice over an extra 20p an hour easily

I work at currys myself (I'm 19 and in my gap year saving to go to australia!). Its not too bad, could be alot worse - this time of year its total dos because everyone is broke from xmas!

Anywhere like tesco/sainsburys would be fine, they are all soul destroying but the pay is ok.

Working in clothes shops is quite good (I hate clothes shops but there are quite a few female staff which is always a bonus)

Does Currys work on commission - my current job ends in about 3 months (I'm not going to renew the contract) So I'll be in a similar situation.

I'm actually in the same situation - I am 18 this week ( ) and I might work down the Crooked Billet Sainsburys on the north circular, the bus at the bottom of my road actually stops in front of the entrance a 5 minute ride away too... I also live a 10 min bus ride away from a shopping centre, and famous Walthamstow Market aswell... I just cba right now

I've been looking around for a while and applying at places (only 16) and havent found many places that would be willing to work around my college hours. I applied for a job at the local Co-Op yesterday though and I'll hopefully get a job there. The pay isnt too bad (£4.20 per hour) and they are willing to work around my college hours.

I used to work in Currys, as much as I hated that kind of work, they were by far the best store I had found for flexibility with people's hours and general moral. It also helped somewhat with keeping me up to date with new technologies whilst I looked for an IT job.

Whatever you do, don't go to Staples!
