    Worlds Most Hated IT Brands

ill post mine and you can post yours:

Symantec with theyre software which clogs up your PC and pop's up stupid windows if you so much as hover your mouse over a rude picture (over exagerrating i know)

AOL and theyre whole concept of there awful browser, the fact that when installed they change a lot of your system settings for example winsocks which can cause havoc if migratting to a new ISP, the fact the if you want to share the connection you (have) to buy a certain branded router e.g. netgear

thats all from me for now, please post your companies from hell with an explanation of why you hate them so much.

Wanadoo - for making me use only their e-mail and not allowing another SMTP server

Glad I'm nowhere near them anymore

    Internet Explorer.

Mainly because every time i design something using css opera and firefox will show it up right but IE wont so it means i have to redo the css to fit its a total pain and i really cant stand it!

prolly just my dodgy css but ff and opera read it fine.

Id have to say its probably PC brands in general, i.e, full systems as opposed to individual components. Or more specifically the way they are advertised like you should buy a computer on the strength of who put it together.

Or Intel, purely because i hate that stupid jingle they make everyone put in their TV ads/

    Thumbs down

well i suppose as regards to internet explorer we could just say microsoft in general lol, and you have a very valid point there about it brands in general **couch cough** dell **cough cough** pc world, << dont you hate the way they advertise the fact that they have someone in there store who is clued up on IT but when you actually goto the store and ask them a fairly simple question they look, flabbergasted, its a great game to play if you have a car, drive out to PC Worlds all over the country and see what kind of response to simple questions like "how many megabytes are in a gigabyte" or as stated in theyre advert where the saleman describes HT technology "try and talk to them about that", and you will learn learn that alot of theyre employees are trained monkeys. another note on symantec and why i hate them so much is that they have purchased Sygate, which really upsets me as i have used them now for about 5 years and theyve always been good, but lets see what happens to them now.

Edited by Iain - I'd hate PC World as well if I'd bought my PC from them and they left the full stop off the keyboard.... Please at least try to reread your posts before pressing submit

actually most ISP are quite restrictive about SMTP access. Its not too tricky to get around though.

Dell - I just hate how they rely on There own Motherboards, Refuse to use AMDs and then sell them at a silly knock down price just so people will buy them

    And I like Symantec.

OpenBSD - bunch of aragoant lieing *****.
    Apple - " " " "
Sony Records (or First4Internet) - made everyone parinoid about rootkits, and idoit press people sayign we're on the dawn of the rookit age. Please wasn't it '94 DDJ had an artical about 'rootkits' on NT? (only they didn't call them rootkits because the term dosen't have as much sence on NT as it does unix)......
Anti-Spyware firms (Spybot, spy*, *spy, ad*). Waste of time and money
Software firewalls for 90% of the people who use them " " " " " as they run as super users, and except them to actually block outbound attacks!

oh the rant could go on for ever!

Worst? NTL counts there for me, worse than microsoft, symantec, AOL and PCworld put together.

Consistently aweful service, aweful customer service, and even though it has been 8 months since I was a customer they STILL send me bills..urgh never touching a cable service again
