    Winter Olympics

awesome stuff. currently watching the Luge. those guys have serious balls. you're a couple of inches above ice hurling along at +120km/h...
...and then there's the skeleton too!

anyone looking forwards to a particular event?

I saw the mogul skiing yesterday, weird event but good fun to watch. Luge is insane but more sane than downhill skiing, they ARE mad.

I always love the ski-jumping... whatever posessed someone to lob themselves off a mountain in the first place?? (currently on at the moment)

I also like the figure skating and Downhill.

love moguls - it's just so much agony and fun!
luge just looks really exciting - but after doing GS and Moguls for school compos, I'd say moguls are the hardest work

Downhill was pretty mad, moguls were a prime example of skiers pushing the limits, practically everyone who came down went one up over the person before them

saw bits of this at the weekend in the youth hostel (was snowboarding in grindelwald this weekend ), most of the ski jumps, and bits of moguls too.

Looking forward to the snowboard events myself, mainly the half pipe event

I've been watching the Olympics in HD and even the mundane sports are watchable. I watched part of the women's hockey slaughter that was Canada v. Russia.

I personally love the short track speed skating, thats superb fun to watch and they are just so flipping fast. Canada's demolition of Russia was hilarious too. Two matches down Canada Goals for 28, goals against NIL! heh.

I love watching the winter oylmpics

How many different versions of sliding can you see before you get bored? Whadda you know, there's another guy going like stink on a load of frozen water.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

I think the Biathlon competitors are pretty good. Being a rifle shooter myself I know how difficult it is to shoot that accuratly over 50m, but to ski 4K between shoots.
Thats a lot of skill, endurance and fitness needed.

Hasten to say, I am not a skier and never will be!! I'll stick to the prone event myself.

the jumping is cool to watch too!!
