My Maiden name Curry is Anglo Scottish, it means Mill or Mills so maybe my ancestors were Millers, or i could be named after the River Curry in Somerset, the name has links from there, or maybe it's a derivative of the Gaelic word Curraigh meaning Wet Plain
As for my married name Powell, i havent a clue![]()
Well mine is pretty obvious: Davidson. David had a son. east
The 1881 data is interesting though as it shows the two Davidson clans quite clearly. I'm from the North East clan, which i already knew. There are still a lot of Davidsons in the Aberdeen area.
nice link...always thought my surname was welsh but uve proved otherwise...ty...
Scotland. There's a Village and a Loch that shares my surname. There was a cup winning football club called Tarff Rovers too, think they are no more though =( http://www.geocities.com/tarffrovers/
