well, I have this thing about magnets. I love them I find them very interesting. Well today I recived my first actual 1 inch cube N40 magnet! She can hold 100 pounds! Yep thats right! a 1 inch cube can hold 100 pounds!


So far I managed to get myself stuck to my car! Literally! And my house door! If I would of bought 4 I would of been helpless!

I got a load of neodymium magnets off of ebay a couple of years ago.
Nothing prepares you for quite how powerful they are.
And really take heed of the warnings. When they leap together you can get a nasty blood blister if they pinch and they are really, really, really brittle and anyone would be wise to wear some eye protection when handling more than one.
Seperating tiddly ones is nigh on impossible - they just leap back as soon as they are apart.
Mine have ended up as super compact fridge magnets. Have to remember not to use them flat, use them edgewise - otherwise removal can turn into an afternoons task. You can wrap one in gaffer tape to create a pull tab.
My favourites are some square disc gold plated ones. Blingest, littlest fridge magnets out there!

I noticed my next door neighbour was chucking away a PC, so I asked to have it. Salvaged two drive magnets and an AMD K5 as a paperweight...

I've got 4 16MB* SIMMs, an S3 Virge DX and a Travan drive sat outside my house if anyone's interested...





*actually, they may be 4 4MB SIMMs. I just remember the number 16...
