Intolerance is the root of all evil :(

Isaac Hayes is no longer going to be doing the voice of chef.

Isaac Hayes is a Scientologist and that we recently featured Scientology in an episode of 'South Park.' In ten years and over 150 episodes of 'South Park,' Isaac never had a problem with the show making fun of Christians, Muslims, Mormons and Jews. He got a sudden case of religious sensitivity when it was his religion featured on the show. To bring the civil rights struggle into this is just a non-sequiter. Of course we will release Isaac from his contract and we wish him well

South park has taken the piss out of every mainstream religion, except maby buddism, but Scientologists are easy prey, and i'm amazed it took them this long to make fun of them.

Its not as if anyone can say scientology is a serious religion anyway, at least the ID people can say our bible is 2000 years old. What can tom cruse say? I paid x grand so it must be true? It was compiled by a (failed?) sci-fi author who had an intrest in physcology?

At least scientology encorages followers to question the ridiculous claims instead of blindly following dogma...

heheh, they've made so many episodes of South Park, they should make a 'Chef V2' and just use all previous voices he has already recorded... even if it sounds a bit dodgy they could make him into a robot.

    This is not good

I almost got sucked in by Scientology once. I was at uni in Birmingham; they used to hang around on the corner near Barclays and McDonalds. One day I stopped and agreed to answer a few questions. Before I knew it I was in the "Dianetics Centre" filling in the world's largest questionnaire. I should probably mention I was feeling a bit isolated and lonely at this point, so I was vulnerable (sure they could see this). Of course, the questionnaire assesses "sensitivity", "feelings" and all the rest. You're in there for a good couple of hours, during which they play on any weakness they can find, before signing you up to the first auditing level (going to write essays and suchlike), and selling you Hubbard's loony book. Not having money on me, I was escorted down to the autobank to get money out, not much mind, but enough.

Eventually I got out, plus one book. After a couple of days I decided I wasn't interested in the course and tried to quit. It was probably over a month of almost daily calls before they eventually stopped trying. I also failed to get my money back for the course I never started, and was made to feel like scum when I went to the place and asked for it. This was the most basic level you can get. I can't imagine the pressure put on people who make it up to higher levels.
