A delivery hiccup to my advantage?

Well I bought a 2000FPW display a couple of weeks ago which I'm very happy with but I requested a replacment from the company I bought it from as there was a bit of backlight bleed. Today a courier dropped off a new 2005FPW with all the accessories but DIDNT ask for the other panel! Somone else took the delivery as I wasnt there, so I was suprised to see the other panel still here. Now I know this company will probably be ringing me in a few days but part of me hopes the couriers insurence will cover it, and I'll never here from them again lol. Or maybe they just thought I deserved a brand new monitor for free? Either way I'll be experiencing a "40 dual screen set up later on

Ring them up, be honest and explain that you still have the monitor. Karma and all that, it'll come and get you right in the eye when you least expect it.

Yea a bit of honesty goes a long way, might make things easier in the future (or they may let you keep it, it's not unheard of!)

It would be so tempting to see if you could get away with it, but in the past when I've got something for nothing and kept quiet it's come back a few months later and I've had to pay.

Just send them an email or phone them, but do it sooner rather than later or they'll think that you were holding off while you thought about it.

It'll take a couple days for them to collect it so enjoy the dual setup for the time being.

Being honest is good for your conscience. I've probably told the story about how I ordered a PS2 remote years ago and got an XBOX instead. My consience weighed until I called the company. Of course, they decided to tell me I have to pay to ship it back to them so I told them to sod off. Having called, I no longer felt guilty.

You could at least tell us what company you bought the kit off?

I might start buying and "returning" stuff to them myself

Yeah, give them a ring, make it sound worse than it is "My broken piece of junk wasn't picked up, but that's OK, I'll throw it away for you", and they may just not ever come back.
You don't want them to try come get it after you've sold it....

The EXACT same thing happened to me, however sadly, do not celebrate

I wasn't happy with my first 2005FPW leakage so I did the same thing, and asked for a replacement, which was better. They don't pick up the same time they deliver, they pick up around a month later (well, for me anyway). You will shortly get a call from India I'm afraid

These are my thoughts exactily. almost to the letter. Phone them and tell them. If they get funny, they can collect it at your convenience
That means not waiting around for them at all, only arranging times when you are definately in and only giving them a 15 minute window.

Just make it clear that it's their responsibility to get it off you, at your convenience (^^^^^) This has happened to me before (ie companies picking stuff up from me) and they just don't bother - it's not worth the time and effort to them.

Just got back from band practise and I can't even be arsed with trying the duel display , I might call in the morning after I've done a few things and see what the deal is or maybe I won't. I think I'll leave the panel boxed at work and they can pick it up from there if they wish at their leisure.

Thanks for the advice, I do strongly believe in karma and it's something I have adhered to regarding others throughout my life, however I think this 56 billion turnover a year company involved could ride it, maybe this is their karma Companies like this have been known to screw people over before, me included; either way Ive got no problem with the outcome even if it means taking a freebie should it comes to that. The first I knew about the panel exchange was the courier phoning me to tell me about the delivery, so it was all a bit crazy tbh.

Maybe theyll pick it up, maybe they wont, we'll have to wait and see
