I've just used Parcels2go, whilst the postage strike was on...
They basically played basketball with my package, a PC.
I was just wondering if anyone has made a successful claim for compensation against them?
My claim is currently pending.....

They have done the same with me - and the claims take ages. If I do not suceed I will be taking full legal action. It was packaged properly and the system was fine when they picked it up.
I received a christmas card from Parcel2go the other day..... bit early innit
My understanding of Parcel2Go's business model (and hence the reason to slow claims) is that they act as a logistics agent.
They themselves don't actually own any vans / cars / bikes, they just use other couriers. So when you claim from them, they have to take it up with the compan(ies) in question...
I personally have never had any problem with them ;)
Iv'e used them twice and had a problem with them once.
But that's only luck I reckon.
I still haven't heard one word from them about my claim or a reply to my e-mails...
Has anyone claimed successfully from Parcels2go, or even been told to go hang....
They said they are paying out but have taken weeks to sort anything
I had a case sent to me via parcel2go but the actual delivery agent was Omega Securicor. The case must have had something thing really heavy on it because it they managed to bend it out of shape, and pop all the fans centres out of their plastic surround . Unfortunately my house mate signed for it, and so they did not pay anything, grr! I have heard more than enough bad reports about parcel2go to make me steer clear of them forever.
I had problems with them, they trashed a £200 monitor i sent. Bloomin useless and i never got any compensation for it.
Wol
Whats the alternative to parcel2go then?
Parcel force? Im wanting to send something around £250 worths... but parcel2go only offer £100 insurance.
So what do i do?
Special delivery, tick the £250 insurance box, costs £18.50 up to 10KG, but i've heard anything bad about SDQuote:

Ben
Parcels2go £20 service and special delivery are about the same cost for sending a PC.
The big difference is if you can't get to a post office during the week, the fact that Parcels2go will collect from the office is a major factor.
I just want to say they have a telephone number on there site, if you call it youll find the person on the other end usually a lady is very very helpful ;)
Can anyone say "Phone"? :p
I called Parcels2freaks and the employee said that complaints dept was in another office and only dealt with by e-mail.
But then she did check in 30 seconds that they had recieved my fax.
So not helpful really.
Who knows maybe it's good cop, bad cop!
Amtrak all the way!
However, to be fair, I tend to use Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Amtrak is another £5 though for the same service and they dont collect from you, unless you have an account ;)
took me 8months to get compensation, but u have to remember there the middle men and the payment will be comoing from the courier so try and deal directly with them
Still haven't replied to 3 e-mails.
Grrrrrrrr!
I'm getting something sent to me by parcels2go - they failed to pick up on the agreed date then came a day after when the sender had told them no one would be there :/
Wonder which courier they were using
Has anyone actually succeed in making contact with P2G easily when complaining/claiming.
I'm now on my 5th e-mail without reply.
try POSTVAN
http://www.postvan.com/
very good customer service.
Got a special service for delicate electricals like comps.
Cheers for that.
Royal mail al the way!
Only coz me dads a posty!
Never had to send or receive anything bigger than a keyboard so i've never needed to use any other company so............ Sorry for my useless input!!!!! :(

Parcel2go.com - Claims Department
Yeah I got a reply.
It only took ending them an e-mail every day this week.
And it was DHL that play slam dunk de funk with my base unit.
s.kramer@parcel2go.co.uk is the MD
Cheers. I must say in a month of ignoring me thye've lost any future business i might've given them, and that of at least one other person I know.
I'm not bitter, it's just if you have a complaints systme based on fax and e-mail and then don't reply swiftly what can you expect.
Wow I'm still waiting for any good response from them.
That's over 10 weeks I've been waiting...Grrrrr.
Has anyone actually got a quick result from these guys?
The problem with people like parcels2go is the reason they are a middlemen, I work for a major courier firm reknown for safe carraige of delicate items to like somthing stupid like 250 countries worldwide, but we use partners and they are carp, basically they get a small fee for collecting something and to be honest it ain;t thier direct business its affecting so they play baseball with your stuff with alarming regularity....
Parcels2go get a major discount from all the couriers they use, they charge you the average rate you would get if you went direct to the courier, DHL for example, except parcels2go take responsibility if something goes wrong. Problem is when you have to make a claim, if you are the courier firm a claims is lodged against then if you had dealt direct with them they would look at your claim first, because you went via a reseller you ain';t gonna be on top of the direct customer in getting a payout, its the old addage, protect your own....everyone does it, I personally would say avoid middlemen.

Just a quick word of warning, do NOT even consider Postvan.com - they lost a £1000 item of mine, now 11 months ago. Despite me paying extra for insurance and my lawyer contacting them they have completely refused me compensation because I didn't have a retail receipt for my item. I asked them several times to refund my costage posts too and they couldn't even do that.
I couldn't urge anyone strongly enough not to consider these guys.
Mmmm Parcels2go, PostVan or queuing at the post office on a Saturday....
Shagged any which way.
Even down the post office, the only thing affordable is Parcel Farce and you're not going to have much luck there either!
I'm trying Postvan now.....
Paid just over £15 for their 'Special' Collection.
I still haven't heard from Parcels2go, they're waiting for DHL, that's over 6 weeks since they last said hello
My latest attempt.
Hello
It’s now been nearly 2 months since your holding reply and nearly 3 months since I made my claim.
I would now expect either a resolution or a full refund of my costs and the full compensation amount.
Kind Regards
Iain Telfer
i use www.parcelflash.com
good CS when you ring them :) Theyre friendly too!
And they contact you if there is a problem!
Dont know about claims, as i have sent like 5 parcels.. pcs with monitors etc.. arrive fine.
did have prob with parcel2go.. bit of a damaged case.. never used em since. Havent claimed either, buyer was satisfied!
Parcelflash are pretty similar to postvan.
Thanks for the heads up anyway
Have you considered taking them to the small claims court? Sue them!! You can bet ya ass the'd be taking a CCJ out against you if YOU owed them.
I've been down the CCJ route before against a landlord who hand £300 of my deposit. I only did it because the money was held by a third party.
In my experience the CCJ route is relatively costly and very time consuming for very little return. After all it's was only an £80 PC.
But I might, I'm just waiting a proper response.
From their point of view they've already lost my business (2 parcels so far) and probably the business of tens of other people. So they've lost out.

Got my Payment for £500 today!
How much did you claim for ?
525 or something
Wow I might get £80 back before Easter :-0
Do you know which courier it was, my claim is with DHL...
DHL and Securicor merged...
DHL red and DHL blue now:-)
Did someone ask?
Blow me down, they actually settled..well mostly.
Got a cheque after more than 3 months and really bad customer service (well no customer service).
Anyway that's it settled.
I'll never use them again, they're crap if it goes wrong, etc.
I used parcelflash the last time I sent something and they were great!
