OC UK: Overclockers UK (A bunch of idiots?)

So i brought a P5WD2 Off them, It didn't work so i requested a refund so i can buy it from SCAN. They send me a email saying that the turn over time for an RMA was 7-10 Days kinda long, i thought ok at least i would get my money back. Also you must pay for postage and packaging. so i sent it, it took them 14 Days to test the mobo and that's just the start.

    Heres the orginal RMA

Problem / Fault description: The CPU voltage read 1.4v - 1.47v in CPZ - His machine keeps restarting! He has made sure the bios settings are ok and that is set to 1.4 and when set to 1.3 it reverts back to 1.4???
    Desired action: Refund

I get an email today saying they are sending back as they hadn't found a problem with it WTF!.I call them asking them whats going on? they call the testing centre and Come back to me saying that the guy hadn't tested the mobo. He thought i was lying WTF>?. so i said i don't want a replacement, but a refund. he said they alreadt sent it back out to me? i was so pissed at this point! so i have too pay another £5 to send it back? and to make matters worse this becoming the most expensive RMA ever.

He sent me out another RMA

Problem / Fault description: sent back by mistake but should have been refunded, He is within 7 days

    Refund Him
    Desired action: Refund unwanted.

i mean like which ass have you guys got in testing? do you not agree with i should be conphensated? another three weeks waiting on another RMA? this poor Customer service and i am not a happy bunny. tommorow im going on the phone to finish what they started.

Whats your guys view on this?

if you look around the tinternet, youll see that there is an unusually high dislike of overclockers uk. i have been stung myself and its not just the monkeys that work there that are imcompetent. i have had first hand experience of the boss of overclockers and his awful business practices and crap attitude, and to be honest, i really wonder how they do any business at all any more.

for what its worth, send them a letter by recorded delivery, stating that you want a refund, and a refund for the postage both ways within 7 days or you will be informing trading standards.

    just my opinion.

When I had to deal with OcUK due to a power supply in a case I had blowing up (Antec oddly enough), they were pretty good about it, simply sent me a nice new NeoHE power supply which is worth more than the case & powersupply I bought last time (it was a budget machine, but had a truepower psu in it). They can be a bit arsey at times, but deal with them politely and I have never had any major problems (Work spent some rediculously large amount with them on my recommendation, and they have been fine, though they wont go out of their way to help you like Scan)

Don't worry this is the right place for a rant. I had exactly the same problem with a 6800gt they sent me. They were going to make me pay for it to be delivered back.... that is until...... I told the guy I'd been refunded for the product 2 weeks previously. OOOooooo how I larrrfffed.

Stay clear tbh. They aren't the cheapest and they don't have the best customer service.

Used to buy from OCUK until I found scan

Never had a problem with them - I always heard their customer service was crap though, but luckily I never had to deal with them.

as said this will be locked as many OcUK threads have before.

Just wish there was a proper place to put these opinions since hexus.trust doesnt have an OcUK entry.

Well at least only the thread will be locked and the author of the thread won't be banned unlike on OcUK's forum (so I've seen).

That said, I have never had a problem with them. I simply stopped e-shopping from there because their prices just aren't competitive.

Its all about Scan and Ebuyer, I think. But I'm aware even my beloved Ebuyer are prone to the occasional cack-handedness, but I've never had a bad experience with Ebuyer myself.

it's not that hexus wants to stifle peoples' opinions, it's that they don't like getting sued
