Oh thank god, about time so decent rules have been setup Sucks for the people who just want to take advantage of the offer, but serves them right too
Now lets hope people will actually stick to them.
'tis their own fault if they don't, and they will suffer..... the CONSEQUENCES!Originally Posted by teachmech

I wont be using it.
There is a difference when it comes to people who blatently take part in the community.
But usage is your choice, the option is there.

I've spent far too much at scan because of this offer!
DAMN YOU ALL!
Fab service everytime though
Would it not make a bit more sense to have the checkout page check the order value, and if it's under the free carriage threshold automatically apply the carriage fee?
That way Scan cannot be taken to the cleaners over too many low value orders, and you don't end up annoying the membership by threatening removal of post-counts/memberships?
The code is only a few minutes work for any developer worth their salt..

whether its a few mins work or not to you, we have no idea how the card functions at Scan and Im not about to predict.
In fairness, this puts the onus on the people who want to use the offer, its not a totally free lunch as such, it requires co-operation

It's got nothing to do with card functions Matt, it's part of the shopping cart code.
It already adds on the carriage fee for non hexus members, and if the person logged in has the hexus flag, then it removes the carriage fee from the cart, it's just a couple of extra lines of logic code to check the order value too..
Not only that, it saves the Scan team from having to go through and check the order values, then adding the note to reset the post count, seeing if they've tried to order too many low order things in the past, then notifying us that the particular member should be removed from the offer/banned from HEXUS.
Putting the onus on the customer to remember/do things like this is never a good idea both in terms of business logic and customer relations.
