School

Do you lot (who have moved on past Year 11 that is) miss school? Most people say once you leave you will miss being there, the people, etc. But I am glad to be honest. All the decent people who I actually like still go to my sixth form and I get on absolutely fantastic with everyone, and I'm really happy with it.

All the idiots who made my life hell, have gone elsewhere thankfully. Also the learning atmosphere, and the way you get treated is just fantastic. Such a leap in maturity over such a small period of time.

What are your views, etc?

I miss a few people from there, but there were far too many idiots where i went.

I work in a School, but not the one I went to! Wouldn't want to go back (as a Pupil anyway :p).

I wish I hadn't gone to 6th form college, to be honest. Or perhaps maybe I wish I'd gone to a different one than I did.

I enjoyed school.. it was one of those times where I can say I had some serious fun everyday. No worries, no regrets. I suppose I liked the method of teaching that comes with schools - as long as a teacher isn't a retard, you will learn and if you're not a retard, you'll succeed.

Despite not having any A Levels or other Higher education qualifications other than my GCSEs, I'm currently doing a degree that I am thoroughly enjoying (almost) every minute of. I just wish that I'd gone to work for two years instead of wasting at college.

iv just recently moved to year 12, and im with you, all the idiots in year 11 who annoyed you and didnt let you work, have nearly all gone, and as you said, because students who are there want to learn, you get treated by the teachers much better, as you treat them. It really is much better, and i actually quite enjoy some of my classes :O

i'm in 2nd yr of college, and as soon as i started college, i realised how much i wished i was back at school. i got one with everyone in my year, plus it was all sooooo easy compared to college. i really do wish i was back there.

6th form is very hard, but i personally like it alot more, i ACTUALLY LEARN NOW, which is novle, you dont get idiots annoying you taking the piss ( as much at least ;) ) and you get treated like a person rather than some brain dead freak, which is always plesent...... Ah, the old school house, underfunded for years and falling to bits, nice place :)

Well for me school was alright. Good because the teaching method suited me very well indeed and i left with a fantastic set of results.

School was bad because of a few aholes who seemed to think they were gona get away with bullying me.

College is fantastic socially. I have met so many new people and iv changed so much since leaving school- for the better i might add :P however i pritty much failed my AS levels :( in computer science by one point which was gutting

I don't miss school one bit. I miss univeristy though, university was very good. :(

aye lol; havent really meet any total b00ns yet, few people that i, stay away from, but its the same for them, so suits me :D

college pwns school

i hated it, all the rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishs, all the idiots all the bullies, id never go back, sure i had a few good times but id never want to go back, theres only 2 people from my school i will ever miss, the other 250odd cna bugger off, was a big sham

i hates school.. teh first few weeks of my as levels were ok, but buisness studies = sleep time. english gcse retake was rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe aswell, just like year 11. also did maths, and got throw off, our teacher was crap (she knew maths well, but just a rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe teacher, and never explained anything), about 3/4 of the class got kicked off the course in that day. ICT was rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe. geography was also rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe.

college is ok, but everything is reports! i have 5 overdue already! i hate writing/typing where i have to think what to say, i know all the stuff, but this work is hell... practical lessons are fun though

i dunno, i miss my mates, i miss playin fotty, i miss havin a laugh, cos i aint really got many mates me own age since i left school, which is a bit poo. but, if youve seen Zoolander, you wil realise that, bein really really really good looking is a lonely business

In in year 13/upper sixth now, and its good really. Got far too much work though. Will end up with 4 A2s, and 3 other ASs...Pretty much no frees...lol ah well.
Yep sixthform is good. I continued at my same school, but the teachers and things change quite a lot.
More fun actially, and you are doing the subjects you want to with people who also want to do them so its good.

School was full of idiots, College was full of more intelligent idiots and University was the best 3 years of my life.

Want to go back and do a masters

college is much better than scool imo, but being a second year now something just feels wrong.......

yup as counts as half an a level

when i walk out on results day 2004 i will have 4.5 a levels

ive pretty much passed/guaranteed to pass from my good AS results and coursework, its getting those Bs for warwick im worried about

well to be fair, the school did it's best, but I was crap at it, same with college, although I only didn't complete my college course because i destroyed my arm pretty much and couldn't write or type for 4 months :(

In some ways I'd love to go back - the hours for one thing 08:45 to 15:30, what a breeze.... no REAL pressure, but then I think... arrr no money to fix my mountain bike when I get it all horribly horribly wrong, no money to run my landy...... arrrrgh never again... the other thing I miss about school was a trumpet for £12 a term.. gotta buy the blasted thing now :mad:

I loved school, but because it was only a couple of years ago now I have no urge to go back.

College first year was great, it was all different, the second year dragged on to much.

At UNI now, and i am enjoying it, but not overly at the moment. Maybe this was because i chose to stay at home i dunno, the main reason is the job i am doing i think - 20 hrs a week is to much, can't wait to drop it near X-Mas and then chill :D

ours did, but it was still appauling, some how i managed to get half decent grades tho , and the same happens at college, even tho i dont do a lot of work

as spamtastic as this is, my opinion on the change from school to college is currently 'blah'.

im in year 13 at school doing a-levels. I prefer it to lower down the school because of the more relaxed atmosphere, being treated by teachers better (they are so much stricter when in younger years) and i have free sessions in the mornings :D

The work is alot harder though, and there is lots of it. Im doing maths, physics and accounting. I did AS English aswell, but didn't bother carrying it on to A2. Im currently at D/E level, so need to do some retakes and work hard this year to get B's.

Also, as other people have said, all the idiots have left so there is none of that immaturity anymore.

yup - what i find in college was theres a BIG divide in knowledge

nobody i know got ddcc/cccc/dddd or anything in AS they all either did really well and got ccbb and up, or totally failed

i got 2 mates, both similar level at gcse, not much difference in scores, then one got UUED and one got AAAA

i dont get it, cos i was crap at gcse, and somehow i did well :?

i miss my old friends from school i would love to see them all againe see what there doing haw there life has gone and is going

Yeah, the social side of school is just as good as the learning bit.
I actually enjoy school quite a lot now.
(ok maybe enjoy is a bit of a strong word to use there...lol)

no i dont at all, i hated school it was really poor, i dont even miss me mates really, although i do miss the trampolines lol

i never missed school at all. I never even missed the people that much, i hardly see any of my school mates anymore 'cause i made new friends at college. I guess this is growing up :P

Tech College was so much better than 6th form. 6th Form was basically an extension of School, where as Tech is basically easy Uni.

i havew been out of school for 2 years now and i dont miss it 1 bit. School sucks. Especially the school i went to.

I had a fantastic time back at school and aside from a small part of it I miss it very much.

I hated school, dont miss it and wouldnt go back!!! was bullied miserably. College was good tho made some decent friends, altho im sad to say ive lost contact with most of them now.... University is even better, cos thru a flatmate of mine ive met the love of my life :-)

Being a student nurse doesnt give u much of a social life tho :-(

I when to a small weekly boarding skool - and im well glad to be rid - dick eds!!!

but im now loving 6th form - were there are not retards or drop outs - but just nice people, hot chicks and social after social!!

6th form at my school was more like a prison, my school was run by nazi's and bible bashers.
