    Can I get a repair?

    Hey All,

Odd question for this forum, but here goes.

I bought a cheap phone - a BT Relate SMS on the highstreet from Index (who used to be owned by Littlewoods) when they were closing down last year.

However, it's now developed a fault whereby there's crackling on the line even with the receiver placed where it should be - and it's still under guarantee.

Now I called up the BT helpline for this and they told me that they could give me a code (some sort of return authorisation) that I could use to give Index tell them to repair it.

However, they didn't seem to understand that Index no longer exist really, so I am stuck, does anyone know who I could contact to get a replacement even if I do get this code from BT?

I heard that Argos was involved with buying up Index but I am sure that they would deny all knowledge if I called.

Any help would be appreciated, otherwise time for the junk pile for that thing!

But all the things I bought in the last few months of index closing down had on their reciepts printed: "These items are non-refundable" or something to that effect?
