    Maggotey dog food eeeeeew!

    not impressed today.

took delivery of the shopping from tesco.com on saturday as usual, and, as usual, stacked up the dog food on the worktop, ready to put into the cupboard. luckily there wasnt room in the cupboard, so i left all the tins in the worktop. last night i noticed a smell, a bit like a ripe wheelie bin in the summer, only it was just a faint whiff. i had a look and couldnt find where it was coming from, so i assumed it was the kitchen bin, and emptied it. anyway, today i got up and went downstairs and the stench was overpowering, not only that, there was little tiny maggots all over the worktop, and the top of the cooker...grrrr....the stench was so bad that i was able to pinpoint the culprit right away, and it was a 6 pack of pedigree puppy food. the tins were all in tact except for one and there appeared to have been no lid on it...ever!. needless to say, that the tin was full of mould and maggots, and the smell...well im heaving just typing this. yuck.

so ive spent the day disinfecting the kitchen, ive torn the flooring up, even had the oven out, and the little barstewards were down there as well. i rang the pedigree helpline and they were very apologetic, and they are ringing me back to tell me what they are going to do about it. all i can say is that it better be good. grrrrrrrr.

on the plus side, the kitchen looks nice now

    heres some pics, you sicko

i had to fish this out of the bin, and it looks like these particular maggots have decided to turn to casters....but you get the jist of things.

just spoke to a very nice lady at pedigree and she is sending me "a reimbursement" to cover the costs of cleaning etc. if its a mop there will be trouble.

    meanwhile, enjoy

Tinned dog food is garbage. You should be feeding your mutt on kibble :-)

Mixed with veg and maybe a bit of gravy that's what our Dog has, if he has meat it's either fresh or it's the Bambers range of frozen meats ( defrosted ) rice ( or pasta ) is a good meal mixed with meat, variety is good, i'd get bored eating the same old rubbish, why should it be different for your Dog, your Dog's tea is the highlight of his day, so you have to make it interesting for him

If he has to have tins ( not often ) then it's Butchers

no pics of the food im afraid, that went straight in the bin in a bag in another bag in another bag...the stench was really bad.

whats kibble? she has always eaten tinned food, usually butchers tripe or tesco's own in jelly stuff. she just wont eat raw meat at all or any mixer. i do liver and rice for her once a week and she likes that...fussy bleeder.

and for those who wanted pics....just be contented with this http://www.stinkymeat.net/ barf

Kibble is dried dog food. Add some warm water. It's usually much better quality than the tinned stuff. Dogs like consitancy in life. Mine also gets a bone from the local organic butcher about once a week.

ARGH, my tongue was placed firmly in my cheek when I typed that post. The void where my tongue once was is now full of warm sick. :/
