It does that for me sometimes for no reason at all. Usually clearing my cache and rebooting does it. Last time it did it on me, I loaded it through IE instead of firefox, it worked, and then i logged in in firefox again and it worked.

    IT'S CURSED I TELL YOU.

I get this problem when I look at my gmail from work.

Always seems to work after I press refresh though.

Has anyone tried the Yahoo! mail beta? It's pretty nice. I still like the conversation grouping in gmail better, but Yahoo! finally has a nice client.

Yeah, I like the way it's all organised onto 1 page so no scrolling needed really (although 3 scroll bars have been added.) Also like the new tabs created when you write a new email.

    Gmail is good here

BTW, I have the most strict filtering in 6th Form, almost every site you can think of is filtered, such as Gmail. It makes me laugh while I'm there, and grateful that I have internet access at home... but com'on, whats the worst you can do with Gmail? I could imagine the little G-Talk IM webclient though causing a little mischeif

I have one account on Yahoo Beta, but it does not let you log in on a pc using ME, seems it's aimed at XP. But it is a good way forward and nicely laid out, a good improvement on the whole.

Gmail can have its problems now and again. But it is a good email system. Yahoo is ok but what puts me off is the adverts! Pain. I use Gmail 99% of the time.

I don't think that it is OS dependent. It's probably browser dependent. I'm using Linux and FF. It gave me a warning about my operating system not being supported, but everything works fine.

I've had the same problem at work - they block some webmail sites like Gmail, but not others..
However, I've found using a secure http connection seems to get round the little problem. Try using https://gmail.google.com - seems to work a treat for me!

Nah, they've clocked onto it too They have even blocked things like YouSendIt and other uploading sites so I can't even send my work home

I used Firefox and IE to no avail. It wouldnt work with Safari either. Finally, after two days (WTF ARRRGHH) it started to work again (with Safari) as if nothing had been wrong. I realised just how much i miss not having email

Maybe google banned me for mocking their ridiculous google merchandise (theres probably a bug in my room) or i got suspended for over use who knows.
