I've spent a couple of hours this afternoon doing some mock-up designs for my new bands website and I've come up with this -

I know that all of you spend alot of time on websites and that theres probably a few photoshop/web design guru's on here so I'm after any suggestions/criticism you have to offer.

Looks nice and minimalist - always good.
Are the numbers on the cards supposed to represent anything?
Like Rave says - Huslter? Either that's an amusing typo or your band is in for getting its name spelt wrong a lot :D

Not sure on the spelling of the band name though. The pics suggest a hustler as in a gambler, in which case the spelling is wrong. You could of course be making up a word that just looks like hustler :p.

Mike, the numbers on the cards represent my birthday, I was gonna have four aces but thats a little bit cliched imo as whenever cards are used in a logo its four aces so I went for a little bit of a hidden meaning on that one ;)
looks good, its a good job you didnt have 4 queens :D
hope you don't mind...I changed one bit. I used Paint!!! and did it pixel at a time! You do it again ya self with the software if yo ulike it...
but it needed doing, in my eyes anyway!

Looks good but i have a minor comment. I don't think you got the angles on the dice quite right, they just look a little skewiff or maybe its just me

nope.....no deeper meaning.....just needed a tiny hit of colour.
It's that kinda thing that allows you to change things in the future.
An album cover with a Blue colour next, then maybe a special edition DVD with a gold colour.
Just looking ahead and allowing a scaleable marketing tool that also looks subtle and classy.
/gets his pitch black coat, with one red button on it at the bottom.... and leaves ;)
A couple of suggestions...
1. What's with the cross pattée (presumably the Iron Cross)? It's rather incongruous next to the gambling paraphenalia.
2. I'd go with 3 cards or 5 cards instead of 4. 3 conjures up images of brag and 5 implies poker, 4 implies whist or bridge neither of which is as 'cool'. I rather like the idea of 5 aces for a band called Hustler :)
3. The font is very Germanic which I guess is traditional for a rock band but the name lends itself more to a 20s America look. I'm not suggesting an art deco type font but something a little more in keeping with the name might be a better choice.
Other than that it's still better than anything I could do :)
Gets my vote! Love the combination of pool ball, cards and dice, and zaks touch of colour is a nice addition
Why a German military iron cross in particular?
you should do 5 aces and hav the last one as skulls instead of like spade or heart :D that would rock :P
I like the original black ace anyway, simple, understated & as metal as it comes. Would make a good tat knoxy ;)

Maybe nitpicking but might as well say it and you can change or not ;)
1) the edge of the 8 card is thinner than the other two (now that i look at it the 9 and the 6 dont have the same thickness edge either)
2) The A on the ace needs moving 1 or 2 px away from the edge of the card to make it the same as the others and maybe the 8 and 9 need moving down 1px from the top of the card.
3) The white border around the cueball is inconsistant as tho you've cut it out messily.
As i said im being pedantic (right word?) so completley ignore me if you want, im a perfectionist :(
