*Put's on flame retardent suit* - Baby adult adverts

It's really starting to annoy me now...

First, the velvet toilet paper advert, that little baby who acts like some 30 year old manager of a company, it's NOT cute, it's extremly irritating. And now, a Sainsburys advert... with this 4-5-6 year old kid who is (by the looks of it) the leader of a football club.

Seriously... it irritates the hell out of me.

Sorry but somebody had to say it, people will probably disagree with me but for some reason I really hate them.

What about the vauxhall advert - where the kids act like the parents? I found it quite amusing at first...but like all adverts its had its day.

Though you can't say it wasn't successful

I just hate children on TV. In real life, children are perfectly nice (well, most of them are... some less so, although that's true of people of any age... but anyway...), but once they start talking on TV they just <expletive> me off.

The way people go into automatic "awww look at him isn't it cute" mode as soon as they see a baby/toddler on TV or whatever, irritates me greatly. Bah

Not only is it irritating you, but you also know which companies are advertising. Works perfectly from their point of view. Money well spent so you're gonna be seeing more of these adverts.

That vauxhall advert with the 3 kids is funny as owt.

I must say I do quite like that Vauxhall advert.. It's ironic, and the child actors are old enough to understand it.

You wait until your long time girlfriend can't cover it up anymore, then it moves from irritating to very very scary. Currently the best plan I have is to placate her with Kittens, but I'm not 100% conviced it will work.

On topic, Sainbury's ad with the kid - Irritating. Vauxhall add with the two/three kids showing a bit of car-snobbery about a family vauxhall (!?!) much more irritating.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

I think that adverts should be banned but thats not going to happen*

well look at it this way, atleast they havent made it into loan/finance/claim type adverts becuase that would be 1000000x more annoying. Acctually that could be VERY effective, i think a lot of money could be made suggesting that to advertising companys! /prepares to hide from billions of angry tv watchers

I atleast think the advert shouldnt be louder than the program your watching. some channels its ok but others they are very noticably louder.

    * with digital/HD tv and VoD coming soon tv is going to change a lot - mostly dependant on set top box makers and content providers. possibly allowing someway of removing adverts, just like using noscript/turning javascript off removes green link type adverts from some websites (note to mods - thats not to say i dont click adverts as i know you need them, just when im trying to read a review they annoy me a lot so its nice to turn them off when needed)

Currently I just record all the stuff i want to watch on my pc and skip the adverts instantly

The reason I hate adverts with kids in is because its just cheap. So is using talking animals, its cheap nasty and painfully unoriginal. Its like the last ditch option when they can't think of anything else to do.

Double-Pedantry/Actually, in the context of the Vauxhall advert, it's "Oooh, they're tired..." as in what all parents say to explain to one another why their, or a friend's, child has just gone off into a massive strop for no reason.
