Holy crap, I have a music video!! (Yes, and a link for it ;D)

I don't want to spoil it too much, click and read the description :D. I tried to make it as unique in places as possible so all 3 verses are different. Inspired much by big Drum n' Bass names like Pendulum and such so I used heavy synth lead as well as my own styles of percussion, strings and such. This is a different, finalised and finished version that I completed in the early hours of this morning ;_; I'm only an amateur!

All comments are welcome, but as I said in the description "this is my first remix, so don't be too harsh" :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Thats a very cool remix, you got a high quality version available?

I have a higer quality version that I could definately post up, but two hindering factors;

1. I made this in Windows Movie maker :D
2. The TRL Premiere of the release of Promiscuous (original) source video is relatively low quality. Maybe if they release a DVD single of it over here or something (since Maneater is Nelly Furtado's European single atm) maybe I could arrange that :D

Reguardless though if you still want the video I could upload it later or overnight to something like Rapidshare etc? Would be my pleasure :)

Keith use adobe premier pro, its the best video editing software IMO its much better than teh windows one. very powerful.

lol i ordered 2 vocal condensor mics for over heads on my kit, but i will use them for vocals aswell and guess what, i ordered a pop-shield to!! so when i get vocals recorded it will be there looking super cool!

My gear should turn up today, just sat at home waiting for it all. lol aload of mic stands just came but theyre not really that fun to play wit.

I did as you said, turned up the bass on my already bassy logitech Z2200 and then turned the volume up.......then it starts playing.....nearly brought the roof down!

As i said, cool, but what did you do to infringe RIAA rights?

Apparently I didn't get remix'ing permission, but isn't the whole like point of acapella's and such to make random remixes and things to get it big? I did actually try to contact Geffen Entertainment at that point but I couldnt get a reply from anything. Ridiculous really, it's for a non-profit cause in the good of mind :(

What do you use to remix your music? I have a few ideas and need to get some good software for my mac.

I use Reason 3.0.4 for MIDI recording and sampling (so basically to sample .wav files, and to play strings, guitar, and any other sort of melody based things), Ableton Live 5 for some sample editing such as timestretching and things (I'm new to that one) and Adobe Auditon for all the .wav editing, recording, and mixdown editing I ever need.

Fruity Loops is a very very ideal program for beginners because it projects the concept of music making well to anyone, and its MASSIVELY powerful so you can stick to it even professionally (quite a few famous producers use it, such as "The 9th Wonder" and "Cory Bold").

Cubase is also good because it is widely accepted as a more professional program and supports plug-ins (namely VSTi's, wiki it) and older versions can be bought for cheap, just like Fruity.

The above two programs can use VSTi's very heavily if you so choose, and the beauty of that is that you get a HUGE range of unique and easy-to-customize sounds, and you can get MANY VSTi's for FREE. Theres lists of free VSTi's at www.downloadsquad.com I think.

I think i got given Reason 2 or 3 for free.. which i was pleased about - personally i'm a fan of Sibellius, but that's cos it's a manuscript editor :)

EDIT: Look on the bright side though, the riaa must have either gone seriously out of there way to get your vid removed, or the original artists saw it and got pissed off ;)
