    Shuttle SN95G5 Problem

    Hello,

I am having trouble with my Shuttle. I have the Shuttle XPC SN95G5 v3. When I start the computer up the fans turn on and everything sounds fine but the moniter just remains idle. I have never been able to get this Shuttle working properly. I haven't even been able to install an operating system yet. I sent it back to Shuttle to make sure the Shuttle/Mobo itself wasn't at fault and it wasn't. The specs that I have inside the shuttle are:

    CPU: AMD 64Bit 3000+
    RAM: crucial 512mb pc2100
    GFX: nvidia 128mb 8x
    HDD: wdd 80gig serial ata

What could cause this problem? The GFX card works fine in my other older computer.

are you sure its the V3? the v1 and v2 have issues with the venice (and san diego) core processors - do you know which your 3000+ is?

Also do you have a different graphics card you could test in there? my 6600gt randomly died the other day - the computer booted fine, but the graphics card wasnt displaying anything - (you say it works fine, but just check again to be sure ).

other than that, try re-seating the memory (ie take it out, and put it back in).

My sn95g5 is being a nob at the moment too - it keeps turning off its usb ports. not useful!

I bought a SN95G5 V2/3 about a year ago and had a ridiculous amount of problems. I could not get it to boot properly so I told scan and they sent me a new one. The new one, v3 iirc, had exactly the same problem.

At this point I got a refund (Scan rules BTW) and ordered a Shuttle ST20 which I have not had a problem with.

Sorry I didn't have any good news

    re

When I sent it back to Shuttle they ran tests and sent it back saying it worked fine, but what is troubling me is the fact that my GFX card works fine in my old computer so I can't figure out the problem with the Shuttle.

I'm not sure here, but the only thing you haven't mentioned is the monitor itself. Have you tested it on another system?
