    Electric razors

Might sound like a strange request.

I have sensitive skin and a coarse beard growth which means I can only use a wetshave razor a few times before its too blunt and i get severe razor rash. I use a mach 3 mostly but have been known to use those wilkinson sword triple blade disposables.

I also use King of shaves shaving oil underneath shave gel and i wash my face and soak the hairs before shaving so its not my technique letting me down.

So my question is would an electric razor sort out my problem and if so can you suggest a model.

    cheers.

Hav the same prob m8. Tho couldnt get on with the oil so u use the gel.

Hav tried a number of electric shavers, mainly Braun & Phillishave. Phillips ones gave a good shave but hurt a bit if there was a couple of days growth. The Braun however took a month of sundays to get it all off, but gave a smooth finish.

So the moral of the story? If i get to shave everyday it's the Braun, if not it's the Mach3 & KoS gel.

Had a Phillishave but its broken, the skin around my nexk always used to come up red afterwards. The best is a wet shave with a razor, you might be better off getting some after shave balm to put on after you have shaved to prevent rash.

electric razors suck, all the ones i used just pulled out hair rather than cut it.

Did anyone see the cinema adverts for those?? OMG, PMSL!!

I use a Mach 3 - havent changed the blades since I got them . . . (aside from the other that came with it) - call me tight, but it still does the job except I cut myself with it.

I have an electric one as well, a Wet/Dry model from Panasonic I got like 7 years ago - it shaves closer and nicer, but the best way for me is to mach3 my face 1st and then panasonic it . . .

This may sound girlish but if you can get an exfoliator (King of shaves do nice ones that are face washes too) and do that with warm water beforehand - then wait 1 or 2 minutes and the shave is a lot nicer and more refreshing. I dont always do it (no need unless a woman demands it really) coz it takes too much time

Work out how much you spend over the life of an electric razor in blades for a normal razor...

electric razors never get as close to the skin, and yes they often just pull the hairs if the hairs are thick/tough...
with wet shaving the problem arises when the soap washes away the skin's natural oils and thus leave it raw...it also takes a while to fully workout how to shave properly for you...every face is different.personally I leave mine for a week at least and then shave it in the shower, i use those wilk. sword triple bladed jobbies (diamond?) and no soap if I can hlep it otherwise its king of shaves blue stuff...and if need be I find some oils to put on my face afterwards; does the trick. shaving in a warm+wet atmosphere definitely helps...good luck people :0)

try the shaving cream from Lush. I've used most shaving gels and it's about the best I've found

i use a Philishave electric razor, and that Nivea stuff, does the job for me. i used my razor to shave my head when i had a mohawk, and it did it a lot closer and smoother than a normal razor
p.s. never let your crazy mate get hold of atftershave when you're head is being completely shaved...it hurts just a bit when they slap your scalp with a handfull of the stinky stuff.
