Here's a salary survey for architects - take from this what you will...

My cousin's an Architect working for a relatively small but high-profile consultancy, and was made Associate Director aged about 32. He's definitely very and seems to do OK moneywise.

I don't really know what architecture is like as a job, but i was thinking about becoming one aswell (im about to go into uni next year).

There were two things that put me off:

    1. Its a seven year course (i felt that was too much for me)
    2. I felt that instead of doing wicked building like skyscrapers for banks and other high profile buildings, it would mainly consist of designing house estates that all look the same.

I never really did much research into it, it was purely what i thought so i might be completely wrong but i just thought i would write what i thought as i was in a similar situation to you a few months back.
You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?

The Salary's are awesome but be aware that the Uni course is VERY hard work, VERY demanding and takes a whole lot of HARD work

Don't know much about architecture as a career. However I will say do what you geuninely have a passion for, and so long as you dont get bored of something in a short space of time, you cant really go wrong
