    Wristbands

Bit of a random one this. I am after a large amount (750+) of those paper wristbands that are often used at festivals, theme parks etc with a sticky bit. I have trawled google and sent emails to every company i found however none of them have answered and i need these asap. I was just wondering if the hexus collective had any idea where i could go about buying these either online or in a store.

Just incase your wondering why i need them i am organising a rather large freshers week pub crawl in Manchester and would like them so people on the crawl can claim their free drinks, queue jumps etc.

I need them printed so is kinda hard to buy on ebay. I have just stumbled across a good website though.

I often find with google that once you know exactly what kind of thing your looking for including the right keywords it becomes very easy. I think in my case the magic word was Tyvek. Just took a while to find it

If you go into China town, Manchester there's a few printers.

These should be suitable as I get quite a few wrist bands from local businesses with their telephone numbers on. Let me know how it goes.

750 people is one serious pub crawl! I’d love to see you getting 750 people finishing their drinks in a timely manner.

Out if interest, why you thinking of using these Tyvek material bands for your pub crawl? Seems a little OTT to me. Just print tickets with each bar/club on. This can be crossed out when free stuff is claimed. This way it can’t be used more than once so there is no point passing it on to someone else.

Yes, tyvek strips are used all over the place (you get them on marathons and the like to tie magnetic chips to your shoes!), however I do agree that tyvek strips are probably not the right thing to use here, surely a little bit of paper is better..... It would also be far easier for the bar staff to check a piece of paper rather than looking on the tyvek strip to find the name of the relevant bar.

Finally, how come its urgent? Freshers week isnt till end of august/october!

We used pieces of paper last year and had a few issues with forgery and just basic logistical issues. Just to clear things up, we dont actually have 750 people all on one crawl! Its for 200 people over 5 consecutive days to cover all of manchester .

Anyway yeah the paper worked ok however people photoshopped them and photocopied them. Cost us another £500 which came out of my personal profit. Thats not happening again no matter what the cost. Also every night involved at least 6 pubs and a club i think so over the course of the week we had to produce 7000 tickets. Thats a lot of cutting and stapling which was a massive drain on my time. Also cost the best part of £100.

Even if this wristband costs more i'm inclined to do simply to save me so much wasted time and for the security aspect. It also looks more proffessional. Finally its urgent because in order to approve the funding i need from the people paying us i need quotes and samples before the end of this university year.

I have actually found someting more suited to the task here: http://www.wristbands.co.uk/wristbands-10tab.htm
Quite expensive though at £280 for 1000. Still i could always charge more for the tickets. Also i know the chances are slim but if your moving into Manchester Uni Grosvenor halls next year, lookout for the tickets
