Who watched this? all about speeding!
Who watched this? all about speeding!
Watching it now.
It is SOOO true that speed cameras are a cash cow.
They don't get money from speed bumps, so thats why they use speed cameras.
Those bikers are taking the piss tho, I do disagree with doing 208mph on public roads.
just finished watchin this....jeeeezus, those bikers are ferkin' mental!
i do agree with the MAD people tho. plus that copper was well up his own a*se.
if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question

you can argue it both ways...speed does inevitably kill there's no way to defend that but in situations where there's no one else around on a clear road the opportunity to exceed the speed limit is there, people will do so.
cearly people are going to argue aout the fact that the gov. is 'preying' onthese people that go faster - regardless of there being clear roads - but surely this is to ensure that they keep the overall speed in that particular area down...
there are other ways of reducing the speed of traffic in 'high risk areas' but the government has not used them. why? you ask...well its of course obvious that cameras bring in money, and a policeman clearly has to stick to the side of his gov.
but the arguement is poor.
to truely slow traffic down obstructions have to be put in place to reduce vehicle speeds to the point where they are less likely to cause accidents. therefore I'd ask for speed bumps as alternative measures, but we all know the gov. can't charge us for those...(directly) thus paste cameras up everywhere.
then there's the fact that a large percentage of accidents aren't actually caused at excessive speeds...how do they answer that one?

Damn, I missed it. Gotta get a TiVo.
Still, I saw the clip last week and it's that kind of riding that gives bikers a bad name. They should grow up and save it for trackdays.

I'd guess that their argument would be (quite rightly IMO) that while the majority of accidents do not occur at excessive/illegal speeds, those that do occur at those speeds are far more likely to lead to injury and/or loss of life. The faster you're going, the harder you hit, the more likely you are to kill or die.Originally posted by shiato storm
