Oh crap. Time to update the list of filtered sites on the proxy server...
OMFG 1337
wonder if the Beeb have the bandwidth for this???
This is the problem. No one ever banks of thousands watching it, so it WILL end up being starved.
If it does work this could be great for peeps stuck at work when the matches are on

Of course, they could just LEARN TO WORK THEIR ****ING VCR? Sorry...I don't like football, and I'm going to be heartily sick of the bloody stuff when we finally have our televisions given back to us. I accept that it's the World Cup. I accept that it's important for football fans and the rest of us just have to live through it. I try not to grudge it, although once again programmes that I like - like Top Gear, which seems to get punted for every bloody sporting event in the known universe INCLUDING ****ing international tiddlywinks - won't be available for bloody WEEKS. Now I won't even be able to escape being screwed around with by it at work.
The next person who uses the word "metatarsal" ANYWHERE in my vicinity is going to die in the heartbeat that they utter it.
Not every business is going to have the additional bandwidth required for x amount of people to watch the games. I forsee some smaller places having issues with their networks and internet due to too many staff watching the games.Originally Posted by atifds9

tbh, the majority of companies with an IT dept worth their salt can put a stop to this before it even starts, so its not worth fussing over....
from a business sense, for a consumer, well its obvious what they would want lol
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net

He's moaning because Top Gear has to be cancelled for the worlds greatest sporting event. Talk about not able to see the bigger picture.Originally Posted by nichomach
Reminds me of another great example of this - when the Berlin wall fell, one of the boarder guards was interviewed while all around him people were huging and celebrating the historic moment, and he says to the interviewer 'why is everyone happy? I have lost my job!'
Nicho - Nobody cares that you don't like the world cup, almost everyone else will be watching, so stiff upper lip old chap. Dunkirk spirit and all that. I'm sure you can find some frightfully middle class works of literature to read while the unwashed masses watch the football.

FWIW, I don't particularly like footy either. Used to really annoy me until recently, but you know what, it'll all be over very very soon
People don't stop watching the world cup when England go out. The final will get massive ratings if England are in it or not. Brazil make good watching.
If you don't like Football...don't read this
Its a great spectacle Can't wait
i hate football especially the crap that goes with it.
like for example rooney (sp?) is suppost to have broken his foot. I think its being faked for publcity.
Wether he plays or not he has got more media coverage in the last few months (bastard!) than i expect the rest of the england squad will over the whole event.
which makes my job and the forced listening of radio1 every day 9-5 very painfull and depressing
