    Just typical.

I spent 2 weeks debating to and throw about getting a widescreen monitor, annoyed mates with questions about what I should or should not do and finally came to the decison today that yes, Im going to get one.

Go to ebay, about to click buy, and HUH? Wheres the auction? Last time I checked he had 16 left, now the auctions closed. Been like this since 11am this morning.

Freaking typical, just when I decide to get something.

Emailed him a question about em, waiting for a response

    DOH!

Don't assume info mate, a lot of us (enthusiasts, gamers, and whatever's in between) love Widescreens not just because of the novelty wideness of the screen

Wait hold on I get like 20% or whatever more viewing distance in games like CSS, which makes that better

What monitor was it? I can understand what you're talking about....could take a while to get used to it I suppose if you've been gaming at 4:3 or 5:4 ratio's for a long time.
    I wouldn't go back now though .
It's hilarious speccing other people when you're dead...you can just tell which ones don't have WS monitors.
The ones that run past crates with people hiding behind them, that you can see, but they can't etc....it's cringeworthy but rather amusing

I had to get used to my monitor too, I remember going from my 19" CRT to this Dell, I became cruddy, but now I would never go back mate.

LOL yeah I find the same thing funny, sometimes I'm like when the CT runs past a T on CSS, but then I had to remind myself he's probably on a 4:3 (and its probably exagurrated somewhat due to tiny lag between the player > server > me)

No pun intended - but it depends on your point of view I'd go widescreen but i'd go for 24" otherwise i'd loose 'height' over what i have now (20.1" 4:3) which would drive me nuts. Of course, that means driving more pixels which in turn means more graphics power is required - so for now, a 20.1" 4:3 seems optimal for me

    Actually a 24inch widescreen is a little higher than a 20.1 inch 4:3.

...actually that was my point dear boy - which is why i said i'd go for that size for widescreen (over say a 20" widescreen which has less height that a 4:3 20") A 24inch widescreen is (normally) about 1920x1200 which is the same 'height' as my 1600x1200 20.1" 4:3 (if we're comparing dells) lol
