well wat it is me and my gf kitty hav got ntl broadband
and when we got it they told us it was 2 mb at the time but it will be getting upgraded
2 a 4mb but that was spose to have been this month at the begining but i havnt noticed any difference neither has my gf so can any 1 tell me how i can check what my connection speed is or how i can tell if they have done it or not ty 4 ur veiws if i get any lol ;p

upgrades could take till 22nd apparently and 10mb will be un capped when this upgrade goes thru

.. we had 300K.. then they upped it to 1meg because they didn't want to keep serveing people 300K because it looked bad.. then they upped it to 2 meg because we phoned up and asked the lady to look though the list of special offers until she found a good one ( we lost some random tv channels for it).. we're going to do that again once this runs out

If you don't have Java etc installed and a broadband connection test requires it, I always recommend downloading something from the Microsoft download centre; good way to test top speed.

download.com is not good for judging speed i get 500kb/s of there but i can get 1mb/s on microsoft

was u under contract at the time? as i have only just started with them.
i was on bt broadband but too many probs

I remember recently being upgraded from 2Mb to 10Mb a while back, i don't notice any speed gains from downloading off of normal websites (perhaps they can't send the data fast enough), though to agree with TiMeZeRo, Micro$oft d/ls always get nice and high speeds.

I've also noticed when surfing with downloads going it doesn't struggle anymore. Not to mention a ping of 6 on my clan's CS:Source server

well it says i am on 4mb unlimited, but i am only getting 2mb speeds still, guess i will ring them up in the morning

i think (not 100% sure) you've gotta reboot your modem once your service has been changed to take advantage of it..

i certainly noticed every speed increase i've had with ntl..

i've been on 600k, 1.5M, 3M and 10M can tell just from website browsing between 1.5 and 3, having web page cache going to a ram drive makes browsing super fast

Then something is wrong with the way your Bittorent is set up. You hardly need any upload speed to get a decent download speed, assuming there are enough seeds.

Have you forwarded the correct ports on your router/firewall and changed the default port on the torrent client to match the one you are forwading.
