Help! What's the difference between a junction and rectifying diode?

Dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I'm sure this will be moved if it isn't. Basically I've got an Analogue Electronics exam on monday (1st Electronics degree), which is pretty much my worst subject. A question that seems to pop up every year asks for a definition of different diodes; an 'ideal rectifying diode', an 'ideal junction diode', a 'schottky diode' and a 'zener diode' with IV characteristics for each. I know what an ideal diode, zener and schottky are, but how does an ideal rectifying diode differ from an ideal junction diode. This wasn't covered in any of my lectures
