hey does anyone know a software that splits up where the sound comes from. lets say that i have my winamp playing some songs and i am also playing counterstrike. What i want the software to do is that the winamp song comes out from the speakers and my headphones only have sounds from counter strike.

does this kind of stuff event exist?

You can do this but it's not natively supported in Windows.

The fundamental requirements are that you have 2 active soundcards and music playback software that allows you to select the output device.

Games will always playback via your default audio device shown in Control Panel.

If you had a second sound card and suitable software eg Foobar2000, you could direct music playback to that second soundcard.
