    Question Are Teenagers Getting Worse?

I've just been reading the local newspaper and was quite stunned.

I live in Cumbria, (Lake District area) in a suburb of Workington. Workington has a population of 30,000 and each subburb has about 2000-3000 people living, so as you can see there small areas.

This one suburb, called Seaton, has been getting vandalised quite badly recently. Here are a few of the crimes

Old People Curfewed Because There Scared
    Library Windows Smashed
    Paint Stripper Poured Onto Cars
    Fireworks Thrown Into Shops
    Phone Boxes Wrecked
    Bus Passengers Intimidated
    Eggs Thrown At HOuse Windows

So as you can see, not very nice for a very small suburb, but this is the strangest one...

SEX IN LIBRARY DOORWAY BY TEENAGERS WHILST OTHER TEENAGERS WATCHED, CHEERED AND APPLAUDED

So two kids having sex in a doorway in public and their mates watch and cheer them on??? What the panda is that all about???

Also in the same area, not seaton but quite close, Veteran WWII war hero who is BLIND and suffers from diabetese has been robbed in his house whilst asleep twice in a few month (and last time was on ARMISTICE DAY and hes a war hero) and an old woman got robbed in her house by 2 boys and a girl aged roughly 12!

... What kinda country is this turning into?

Well I'm 16 and am quite alright.

Sadly, there are a lot of pandas out there these days. Still, it means more job opportunities for me in the future!

If only this were true matey. There are thousands of £4 an hour jobs available- np there, but thats the kind of work that these thugs can get.

If you want something with a future then it seems that its more of a lottery thesedays.

I know nothing myslef tbh im only 18 but in my experience nice guys (AND indeed girls) do finish last

I have to agree that I really don't like most people out there at the moment. Stand anywhere and people are slagging everyone else off, **** ******* * ** ****** etc etc....

Over here (guernsey) there tends to be certain areas where people live which are a problem. The boet is an area where many young ones are major trouble makers. All the cheap states houses are where the tough families seem to go and that's where the trouble seems to come from.

Morals and ethics have gone completley out the window. There is no respect for what is right and wrong. They just don't care.

In some cases one has to point to the parents. If those parents are bringing kids up like that, God knows what their kids kids will be like! That is even more worrying.

These sort of stories really make me sad. I know some old people in Luton who have been shot at with air guns by kids in cars.

I feel sick that these sorts of things go on in our country - kids are so f'd up.

I partially blame the system, its very easy to claim dole and benefits and screw the system out of money, parents do this and that kinda filters down to the kids, but yes in general they are getting worse...

UNLIKELY! I went to school with a few nasty kids and they ALL seem to be doing better than I am... I have spent the last few years of my working life studying and working hard yet I still have to live with my parents (sad at 24 I know) as I can't afford my own place yet, but I see these 'kids' driving their fancy beemers and living it up earning plenty of money from cash in hand jobs probably claiming off the doll too (for which WE pay for!).

Sorry, I kinda get wound up by a certain few subjects. On the whole, I agree, kids (I mean under 18's) are getting much much worse as we can't seem to do anything to stop them!

Perhaps I was being too positive with the job thing - can't blame me for trying.

I just resent it when people say "kids are getting worse." SOME, hell MOST kids might be, but not ALL of us.

I know it's not all kids... sorry if you took it that way. My next door neighbours are hellish at the ages of 14, 11 and 9 (or something like that) so can't imagine what they will be like later on in life!

They already have motorbikes, parties, drink alcohol and possibly have some involvement with girls! Unbelievable! But the with a Dad who's never ever around and a Mum who's on the game (very possibly) it's not surprising!

I know its easy to generalise so I'm not mad at anyone on here - but I do notice a lot of people immediately class all of "us" as trouble.

I have a funny feeling that in a few years time things will turn around completely, and people who live those lives now won't want their kids to be like that. That is, if there's a shred of sensibility left in the world - just one shred, that's all we need.

Nothing to be sorry about. Understand what you mean fully. My parent work and have worked their entire lives forgoing holidays and going out to get married and buy their own house. Some townie girl gets knocked up and they are given a council house, have their rents payed, get given money etc

After a couple of yeras even people in shockingly bad debt who have squandered every penny they have ever got get given a huge discount on buying their council house and a low rate loan etc

Life is NOT fair but we all knew that anyway. Doesnt make it right. Judging by some of the things in this thread what is the furture going to be like.
