    OCS Update

For those of you who maybe affected by this here is an update from MrHAz from Bit-tech.net

A quick update for those of you wanting to know about [OCS]. I have spoken tonight to John Plumtree, of the [OCS] staff, who set the record straight on a few things.
First off, if you have placed an order, had your card charged, but not recieved goods, one of two things will be happening imminently. If your goods haven't been packed, you will get a refund to your card, if they have, the parcels will be dispatched. This process should be carried out once a stock audit has been carried out at the company, which should be pretty soon.

Secondly, if you have sent an item back for RMA, that RMA will be processed and sorted out as soon as possible. [OCS] are hoping to fulfil all RMAs from their current stock; if this is not possible, they will be passed to manufacturer for fulfillment.

John was very keen to stress that he feels a very strong responsibility to all [OCS]'s customers, and is keen for everyone to come out of this happy.

Apparently a combination of two key staff leaving and a debt they couldn't clear or something.
It's a real shame, I liked the service they provided a lot.

Thats a very honourable approach they've taken there.
Most companies wouldn't be doing that.

I hope that the staff of OCS bounce back.

Not quite, they could just hand everything over to the creditors, and then you have to join the long ling of people waiting etc.

AFAIK, the point at which they cant fulfill all of their orders/salaries/other outgoings, they should go into administration. I know a but about it cos I worked for a company that didn't do that

Maybe a friendly accountant chap can explain?

There is an order in which any money recovered from the business goes to and the customer is very last on that list certainly not first.

OcS and John have taken a decision to honour their customers who have supported them for so long. Good to see

It's a real shame to see OCS go. Whenever I needed anything PC-related, they were always the first place I'd check. IMO, they were the best specialists in the UK.

That's a real shame. Good luck to OCS and their remaining staff in the future.

Well played OCS nice to see a company doing the honourable thing.
