16, that was 15 years ago, when Orange first came out it released a Nokia and Motorola phone, and I had the Motorola flip. Bought an extended battery for it so when it was clipped to my belt, the entire phone stuck out about 3 inches!
When i was 14, 7 years ago, i had a motorola brick ( can remember the exact name) which was followed shortly by the Nokia 5110, nokia 3210, 3030, 8310, samsung x100, samsung e600, and now the Samsung d500, which is going to be replaced by the Sony Ericsson k800i
I was about 24.
Nokia 5.1 - bit of a brick and was half decent as an alternative weapon.
I think I was 13-14 or something like that, I'm 18 now...
I think I didn't really needed it when I got it, but I guess my parents thought that was a good way of communicating etc...since I wanted to be with my friends and such and they wanted me to know where I was in advance etc.
But it seems a bit scary with all the yangsters turning into mini-adults. Not just with the mobiles and such, but clothes and so on...

Must have been around 12, though it was just for emergency use really, and my parents used it more than I did day-to-day.
Still, it was a rather fabulous 8210; small, but less functional than the 3310s/3330s everyone else seemed to have at the time.
