ps1 question

hi guys iv got a ps1 but keeps asking for the format disk

i dont know why but was hoping u lot might be able to help

i need to find the disk from somewhere and was wandering if any1 knows were to get it from ect

other wise i need to get a new 1

i know u guys might turn round and say get a ps2 there better but the games u get on ps1 are really good classics and dont feel the same on ps2 as i have tryed

so plz guys any info on where to get the disk from ect plz tell me ty

If so, then it is having issues reading the media that you inserted in the playstation.

First thing to check is if the disc is clean and not scratched and secondly check that the lens is not dirty on the playstation.

Try a different game, That message means you are playing a game thats not a genuine PS1 game (or damaged so the PS thinks it isn't).

If it does it with all games you probably have a problem with your laser, it's fixable, but it's cheaper to buy another PS1 second hand

yeah iv checked all that m8 i took it in a shop aswell and they told me i had to get the disk
as its memory was desolving and needed resetting or sumit lol

step 1: insert game
step 2: take playstation, turn it over (i.e. resting on its lid)
step 3: turn on

Yeah, PS1 memory dissolving happens a lot, the Atari Jaguar was famous for it too.

I'm not sure how you reset the memory though, I'd have thought turning the power of for a week or so might do it, though HEx's 'flip-it-over' solution might help you out, especially if you're playing Australian imports.

I have to turn mine upside down to get it to run properly, I think it's somthing to do with the lens dropping
